Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 1, 2026
1. Overview
LakeMate ("we," "us," or "our") operates the LakeMate website and AI concierge service. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
2. Information We Collect
LakeMate does not require user accounts or registration. We collect minimal data to operate and improve the Service:
- Chat Messages: When you use the AI concierge, your questions and the AI's responses may be logged for quality improvement. Chat messages are not linked to your personal identity.
- Anonymous Visitor ID: We generate a random anonymous identifier stored in your browser's localStorage to understand usage patterns. This ID is not linked to your name, email, or any personally identifiable information.
- Usage Analytics: We collect page visit data, including pages viewed and general browser/device metadata (browser type, screen size, operating system). This data is aggregated and anonymous.
3. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect:
- Names, email addresses, or phone numbers (unless you voluntarily include them in a chat message)
- Payment or financial information
- Location data or GPS coordinates
- Social media account information
4. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and improve AI concierge responses
- To understand how visitors use the site (aggregate analytics)
- To identify and fix technical issues
- To develop new features and improve the Service
5. Third-Party Services
Chat messages are sent to third-party AI model providers to generate responses. These providers process your messages solely for the purpose of generating a reply and are subject to their own privacy policies. We do not sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
6. Cookies & Local Storage
LakeMate does not use tracking cookies. We use browser localStorage to store an anonymous visitor ID for analytics purposes. You can clear this at any time through your browser settings.
7. Data Retention
Chat logs and analytics data are retained for a reasonable period to improve the Service. Because data is anonymous, we cannot fulfill individual deletion requests for specific chat messages. Clearing your browser's localStorage will remove your anonymous visitor ID.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
9. Connecticut Data Privacy Act
If you are a Connecticut resident, you may have additional rights under the Connecticut Data Privacy Act (CTDPA), including the right to access, correct, or delete personal data, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal data. Since LakeMate does not collect personally identifiable information or sell data, most of these rights are not applicable. If you have questions, please contact us.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
